The DA42 offers maximum handling, stability and control, ease of operation and structural, system and propulsion redundancies, all together with a high degree of crash resistance.

Austro Engine and Propulsion

The DA42-VI uses the Austro Engine AE 300 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine with 168 HP. Equipped with the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system, the engines drive constant speed tripod propellers, which give the aircraft, besides power and safety, greater efficiency, both in performance and fuel consumption, in all flight regimes. This makes it possible to apply, for example, 75% of the power in the FL160, generating 175 kts (324 km/h) and a consumption, at 60%, of only 39.4 liters per hour (10.4 US Gal/h) of Jet-A1, resulting in one of the best performances in its category.

Avionics and dashboard

The dashboard, powered by Garmin's G1000 NXi avionics, is considered the most modern and advanced. Fully integrated with the GFC700 three-axis flight control system, the list of accessories is long and includes Garmin GWX70 weather radar and Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT). The former displays in color on the instrument panel the weather conditions ahead of the aircraft at an adjustable angle of up to 120 degrees. The Weather Attenuated Color Highlight feature can identify areas of instability and danger, in addition to radar capability. SVT recreates a virtual topographic landscape from the G1000 NXi database, providing pilots with a supplemental 3-D representation of terrain features, showing landmarks, obstacles, and traffic close to the aircraft. This enhances crew situational awareness and increases safety in all flight phases. The DA42-VI is certified for day and night IFR and VFR flights.

Room and comfort

In addition to the striking and important features of the four-seat twin-engine Diamond family, the aircraft features elegant design and easy access to the cockpit and passenger cabin. The cabin cover is "awning" shaped and opens forward. The rear door is of the "seagull" type, allowing access to the passenger cabin and to the large baggage compartment, located behind the seats, which, as well as the cockpit seats, are made of leather, ergonomic and comfortable. The DA42-VI can carry a payload of 579 kg.

Options and accessories

It is feasible to customize the Diamond DA42 through a wide range of options and accessories, according to the customer's wishes, lifestyle and operating needs. With a variety of options and exterior colors, it is possible to create the Diamond DA42, including a fully customized paint job and layout according to customer preference. Besides ensuring an amazing design, the paints used by Diamond Aircraft were specially developed to help dissipate heat and static electricity from the aircraft during flight. It is also possible to customize the interior of your DA42. Always with a premium standard of workmanship, you can choose one of three color options to get the perfect combination. The model comes standard with electrically adjustable foot pedals, LED interior lighting, reading lights for all occupants, USB sockets for pilots and passengers, power headphone connections for noise suppression systems, cabin air heating, and a host of comfort-related options such as electric air conditioning, sheepskin seats, tablet holder, removable controls for the copilot's seat, and much more.

Maintenance simplicity

The maintenance of the Diamond DA42 is more simplified and occurs only every 100 hours, which provides greater savings and, mainly, availability for the operator to enjoy longer periods for the use of the aircraft in their operations.
