Highlighted competitive advantages

The combination of lower operating cost with simple aircraft handling and very low noise emission offers existing and new special mission customers a significant competitive advantage.

Aviation Safety

Diamond Aircraft believes that preventing an accident from occurring is the best defense. Active safety features, such as the Garmin™ ESP electronic stability system, help prevent accidents, while passive safety features are designed to minimize the likelihood of occupant injury with safety cell composite fuselage, unobstructed head zones and highly protected fuel systems. The construction pattern of the Diamond DA62-MPP utilizes the monocoque fuselage made of lightweight, ultra-strong carbon fiber composite material. The cabin is designed to ensure a panoramic view for the occupants and Formula One-based technology such as a survival cell capable of withstanding up to 26G impact. Thus, the DA62MPP's elegant structure offers maximum durability, aerodynamics, high performance, and superior protection for its occupants.

Austro engine and propulsion.

The Austro Engine AE330 engines propulsion of the DA62-MPP is one of Diamond Aircraft's greatest prides. They are two liter, turbo-charged, direct fuel injection piston engines that accept jet fuel (Jet A-1, Jet A, TS-1, RT, No. 3 Jet Fuel, JP- 8). With 180 HP and electronic control system (EECU), it allows operation by a single control stick. The DA62-MPP uses MT-Propeller's 3-bladed, constant-speed composite propellers that feature advanced geometry for efficient, smooth, low-noise performance. Control of the engines and propellers is extremely simple with the electronic single lever control system, which makes operation easier, more convenient, and safer, allowing the pilot to focus on other important flight functions. In addition, Austro Engine engines have their Time Between Overhalls (TBO) with 1,800 flight hours. The service is always done at the Austro Engine factory and the engine is replaced by a new one, to offer maximum safety and decrease the aircraft's time on the ground due to maintenance.

Room and state-of-the-art technology

The roomy fuselage offers an ergonomically optimized cabin for two pilots, operator station, and plenty of cabin volume for mission equipment. The operator's compartment is ergonomically designed, adapted to your needs and modular for one or two operators. Mission equipment can be kept in the baggage compartment by means of hardpoints and equipment racks.

Is tomorrow's mission different from yesterday's? No problem! The versatile and cost-effective DA62-MPP platform is suitable for:

- Law enforcement operations; - Search and rescue missions; - Coastal and border patrol; - Force protection; - Disaster management and firefighting; - Infrastructure and environmental monitoring; - Calibration of airport landing systems And much more.

Versatile Platform

The DA62-MPP is specially designed to carry multi-functional airborne sensors such as EO/IR cameras, land and sea radar, COMINT solutions, airborne laser scanners or large format digital aerial cameras and more. Mission kits can be mounted on specific hard points located on the nose and belly of the aircraft, as well as in the cabin and nose baggage compartments. A stronger universal nose carries EO / IR cameras up to 20 inches and 60 kg, the belly is designed for maritime or land radar applications up to 50 kg, and the newly designed SATCOM pod easily accommodates L-, Ku- or Ka-band antennas.

DA62-MPP Surveystar Configuration Concept

In cooperation with partners, Vexcel Imaging, IGI, Somag, as well as RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems, Diamond has created a strong and modern European state-of-the-art survey configuration - the DA62-MPP SurveyStar. The aircraft's extraordinary low noise signature, supported by the exhaust systems on top, in combination with the low fuel burn fits perfectly with the idea of operating quietly and environmentally friendly.

Survey Hatch Concept

To have the cleanest and most aerodynamic shape, Diamond follows the idea of integrating survey cameras as well as the stabilization mount in the cabin, replacing the right operator's seat. The easy access to the large luggage compartment allows Diamond an easy installation of all additional mission equipment such as data storage units, FMS and others. After a year of intense development effort, the DA62-MPP has received two major changes from EASA STC, 62-001, which describes the 20"/ ø508 mm modification to the fuselage center section, as well as EASA STC 62-002, which describes the modification to the single seat configuration. Single seat concept, the standard available seat bench of the DA62 has been replaced by two individual pilot seats to significantly increase comfort and generate more space for the operator with the console in the middle for standard units or other tailored applications, as well as the opportunity to benefit from the adjustable backrest for operators. A typical multi-mission survey solution, the Vexcel UltraCAM Eagle or Osprey incl. Ultranav offers SOMAG GSM4000 stabilization support installed in the cabin in combination with the RIEGL VQ-780 II airborne scanner in the Universal Nose.

Maritime Surveillance Aircraft DA62-MPP MSA

The DA62-MPP MSA is equipped with a complete intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) suite based on the ATOS (Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance) mission system and offers a unique and intuitive operational picture for the crew. Sensor options will also be offered for users who need additional capability, including the SAGE electronic support measures system (ESM) and the Spider communication intelligence system (COMINT). SAGE provides tactical threat awareness and strategic intelligence gathering in the radio frequency (RF) environment, while Spider can detect, intercept, identify and geographically locate communications of interest.

Maintenance Simplicity

The Diamond DA62-MPP's maintenance occurs only every 100 hours, which provides greater economy and, mainly, availability for the operator to enjoy longer periods to use the aircraft in his operations. In addition, Austro Engine engines have their Time Between Overhauls (TBO) at 1,800 flight hours. The service is always done at Austro Engine factory and the engine is replaced by a new one, to offer maximum safety and reduce aircraft ground time due to engine maintenance.
