Diamond aircraft are not experimental. All Diamond Aircraft are certified by the world's leading aeronautical authorities. Since Diamond's aircraft design is relatively recent, the certification requirements by which the airplanes were approved are more rigorous than those of the main piston aircraft operating in Brazil.
In addition, the factory quality requirements are higher than the standards imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This translates into significantly more safety and higher reliability. All Diamond Aircraft planes are certified by ANAC - National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil.
Diamond provides a two year warranty to the owner from date of delivery or a 1000 hour warranty for engines and propellers (whichever comes first). Engines, engine parts and accessories supplied by Austro Engine, propellers and propeller parts supplied by MT Propellers and Avionics supplied by Garmin International are covered by the manufacturer's applicable warranty and excluded from Diamond's warranty.
Diamond will, at its own option, repair or replace defective parts within the two year period, as long as the original part is returned to Diamond Aircraft. The warranty covers only parts and labor for removal, installation and/or repair. The costs of shipping, importation, etc. are the owner's responsibility. Please consult the manufacturer's warranty document for details.
The concept of all Diamond Aircraft projects is based on safety, with the concept of passive safety and active safety. The first one seeks to minimize risks and avoid accidents by making the aircraft easier to fly, with features such as larger cockpits with better visibility, modern avionics, single handle for engine control, larger wingspan and more stability. On the other hand, active safety seeks to protect the occupants in case of accidents with a survival cell similar to Formula 1 racing cars with light and highly resistant materials.
Diamond Aircraft is the only conventional aircraft manufacturer in the market to perform the Crash Test. Statistics confirm that Diamond aircraft are proven to be the safest in their class. The fatality rate per number of accidents with Diamond aircraft is the lowest in the market.
![faq-segura.webp](/uploads/faq_segura_85c35a67ef.webp)Diamond Aircraft has a specialized service center in Brazil through Aeromot. The Diamond Authorized Service Center has operational bases at the Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre, and at the Pampulha Airport in Belo Horizonte.
In addition to AEROMOT, several maintenance companies are already carrying out the certifications to perform maintenance on Diamond aircraft.
Diamond's policy on engine overhaul is to offer customers inspected engines on an exchange basis. When it is time to overhaul with 1800 hours, the customer does not get an engine retrofit but gets an Austro Engine rebuild in exchange. This policy allows Diamond to evaluate each engine received and ensure excellent safety levels.
